Little Rascals to the Rescue
Summary
At the turn of the last century, veteran filmmaker Hal Roach moved to Hollywood in search of becoming an actor. By the early 1920’s, Roach found his real calling as a producer and opened the Hal Roach Studios. He would go on over the next three decades to create some of the motion picture industry’s most famous stars. The Hal Roach Story features a film clips representing his entire career as well as a number of interviews, including Mr. Roach himself, taken from two interviews with him shot back in 1985. This is an intimate portrait of one of Hollywood’s most successful moguls.
PENTAGON HOME MOVIES is a weekly series looking at the propaganda wars that have been fought between the United States and Russia over the past decades. The show uses a century of films produced by the US defense department and Russian/Soviet TV and films. Propaganda, military training and surviving atomic attacks are just a few of the topics explored.
Many of these films were 'restricted' and not allowed to be shown to non-military audiences. Others have been restricted due to content to all audiences after production.
